The Lucasfilm holiday card is a time-honoured tradition dating back to 1977 and this year’s card is a triple delight, honouring the 2021 holiday season, commemorating Lucasfilm’s 50th anniversary, and showcasing all of the exciting projects the company has been working on this year. And seeing young Omega having fun in the snow with her “twin” Boba and their mutual acquaintance Fennec Shand is the icing on the proverbial cake!

This year’s card features the stars of Lucasfilm’s current and upcoming projects – including Willow and Indiana Jones – and was designed by Lucasfilm and ILM art director Amy Beth Christenson, whose credits include The Clone Wars, Star Wars Rebels, Star Wars Resistance, and The Bad Batch.

There’s so much to love about her festive artwork: The Fetts enjoying some quality time together, Grogu joyfully chasing after a terrified Loth-cat, Din and Indy giving each other the thumbs up, Obi-Wan nursing a cup of hot brew while supervising everyone else’s hard work…

Last year’s holiday card was created by Concept Design Supervisor Christian Alzmann and showed Grogu and Din Djarin having a fun time sledding in the snow in a Razor Crest-themed sleigh. A tough act to beat but I think this year’s card has done a decent job of it.

2022 and 2023 are set to be exciting years for Star Wars fans and fans of Lucasfilm’s other projects and I, for one, cannot wait to see what these talented people have in store of us.

So, which Lucasfilm projects are you looking forward to the most and what are your favourite parts of this holiday card? Feel free to share your thoughts in the comments section below!
